"Mobile Fighter Legend----G Gundam" in full.With Mr.Tomino temporarily leaving Sunrise along with the upcoming 15th anniversary,Sunrise decided to explore an alternate style for their next Gundam project and hopefully,this attempt will open up more options for them and the future Gundam series.Here's the story in summary:

In the future,human race began to colonise in space to ease the ever growing population and to avoid any ugly confrontation,they proposed to settle their differences through a tournament known as Gundam Fight with the victor of the represented country able to had power for the next four years before the next Gundam Fight.F.C.[Future Century]60,it was time for the 13th Gundam Fight but the lead,Domon Kashiu,had a much more urgent matter to attend to:Finding his brother,Kyouji Kashiu,who stole their father's Ultimate Gundam and their father took the bullet by being sentenced a lifetime cyrogenic freezing after Kyouji framed him for murdered their mother.Originally,Ultimate Gundam was designed to be able to self-learning,self-regenerate & self upgrade so it could be used to revived Earth after it was seriously damaged by the Gundam Fights.

Despite somewhat had a life of its own,Ultimate Gundam still needed to be fueled by negative desires & thoughts to bring out its own full potential so it constantly had Kyouji in zombie & crazed like state,thus earned it another name,Devil Gundam.Along the fights,Domon also befriended numerous equally skilled fighters such as Chibodee Crocket of Neo America,Sai Sai Chi of Neo China,Georgie De Sand of Neo France & Argo Gaski of Neo Russia,with all of them made a pact in defeating Devil Gundam after they too witnessed the montrosity of Devil Gundam.Besides Devil Gundam,Toho Fuhai of Neo Hong Kong also became their greatest obstacle especially to Domon since he was trained by him,as Toho Fuhai hoped to borrow the Devil Cells of Devil Gundam to lengthened his lifespan as his health deteriorate.

With his shinning Gundam out of shape,Domon later inherited a more powerful God Gundam and headed to Neo Hong Kong where all the final matches were held.In order to obtained more date to upgrade the secretly hidden Devil Gundam,Mr.Wong,the host & the sponsor,abolished the majority of the rules that were written to ensure the safety of all the fighters but Domon & his friends knew that something wasn't right since there's barely any rule left after the announcement.It was the matter of time before Devil Gundam had grown bigger and taken another host as its fuel but the new host turned out to be Rein Mikamura,Domon's partner & technician of his Shinning Gundam & God Gundam,after she witnessed her father being executed by Wolfbay,a general of Neo Japan,who also had been possessed by Devil Gundam and somewhat picked Rein as the fuel for the ever growing Devil Gundam,after Devil Gundam sucked all the life out of Kyouji himself.

Domon was devastated that he had to end Rein's life after he & his friends defeated Wolfbay yet Devil Gundam remained unstoppable and as Domon struggled emotionally,Arenbee,another fighter befriended with Domon,convinced Domon to talk to Rein and brought her back from all these desperate thoughts as both of them shared special feelings towards by each other,except their stubborness constantly hindered them from being honest to each other.Eventually,Rein returned to Domon with both of them delivered the final blow to Devil Gundam with the last technique passed on by Toho Fuhai but improved by the strong love between Domon & Rein.

With fighting games dominated the arcade center during the 90's,Sunrise decided to take advantage of this pop culture,as they did with Star Wars Trilogy in developing "Mobile Suit----Gundam",hence the birth of a completely different Gundam series with many of the techniques & names based on Hong Kong movies and some consultation from expert Martial Artists.In the past,Gundams had always belonged to realistic styled robot genre so hard core fans were somewhat disappointed when Gundams suddenly became super styled robots with enough destructive power closed to their super styled counterparts except sizes.This series received a mixed response initially but fans eventually accepted it as it began to develop a unique style of its own.

Like every Gundam series,"G Gundam" had a somewhat deep story of its genre as it embraced heroism,determination & undying spirits which were lacked from the traditional Gundam series,yet very common in the more traditional super styled robot Animes.Unfortunately,it can be hard to be taken seriously at time otherwise this series proved to be successful enough to had Sunrise to try alternate style.With the mixed criticisms & compliments received by "G Gundam" as their references,Sunrise decided to go back to basic as they continued to explore another style yet remained true to its roots with their next series,"Mobile War Saga----Gundam W[Wing]".

Side Note: It was never specified what the initial "G" stand for in the title,"G Gundam" but based on the previous series,it might had stood for "God" from God Gundam as "Z" stands for "Zeta".Since "G Gundam" set in an alternate universe,I will type up another list to for it besides avod adding more confusions into the already complex original universe.Eager-eyed fans may be able to notice that there are numerous Gundams looked suspiciously like Gundams of previous series,including the yet to be released "Gundam Wing",within the final two episodes as all of the fighters tried to defeat Devil Gundam in combined force.
